Welcome to the Greater Pollok Kist, a unique Community Museum based in Pollok, Glasgow, Scotland. Kist is a Scots word meaning storage 'chest' usually a large blanket chest.
This 100 year old Kist was donated by a Crookston Resident.

The Kist Museum was set up in 2001, and
is managed by local people who are supported by staff from Glasgow's
Open Museum. It features objects from Glasgow City Council's extensive
Museums collection, together with community art and personal items.
The Greater Pollok Kist is a permanent facility providing a showcase for Exhibitions on local and Scottish history, and Community related exhibits.
It is
now housed in the new Pollok Civic Realm and was opened in Jan 2009.
Previously it was housed in the old Library/Leisure Centre.
The
current exhibits include, Television - John Logie Baird,The Co-Operative, Cafe's, GMRC Explorers, Young Carers and Ragtails.
